The Road Ahead for Serious Illness Care--San Diego regional work
The San Diego Coalition for Compassionate Care will convene senior thought leaders among regional stakeholders on January 25th.
The Road Ahead presents and builds on the findings from the 2016 convening in Sacramento, “The Road Ahead for Serious Illness Care in California” is based on the 2015 Dying in California report, and the 2014 publication Dying in America: Improving Quality and Honoring Individual Preferences Near the End of Life, from the Institute of Medicine. Judy Thomas, CEO of the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California, will kick off the day!
The purpose of The Road Ahead for Serious Illness Care is to bring together senior leaders and frontline workers who have ability to advance progress within their work setting or network. We have included senior leaders from our region’s hospitals, physicians, skilled nursing facilities, Bio-Ethics, Payers, Hospice, educators, palliative care programs, faith community and family members who participate in advisory roles to ensure a variety of perspectives and expand opportunities for collaboration.
Results of this convening will be presented at the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California in April!
